About this Service
Stock village homes and rural estates often need better drainage and less maintenance than ageing tarmac offers. A tarmac to resin conversion replaces stained, mossy tarmac with a permeable resin-bound wearing course to reduce puddles and ongoing sweeping.
Because Stock sits on countryside clay with drainage challenges, base assessment is critical. Typical preparation includes deep cleaning to remove organic matter, repairing cracks and potholes, applying a bonding primer and laying a 10–15 mm resin-bound layer. Where poor surrounding drainage concentrates water, installers may add discreet channel drains or edge kerbing to protect the overlay. Resin over tarmac is suitable only when the tarmac is stable; any areas with soft spots or active settlement require excavation and re-compaction before overlay.
Practical limits: quotes should itemise moss removal, crack stitching, primer and any drainage solutions. Installation timing is weather-dependent; avoid laying in prolonged wet or freezing conditions. Colour blends can be chosen to suit village streets or rural landscaping, but long-term performance begins with correct base repair and moisture control.
