How It Works

  • Can resin be laid over my existing concrete patio?

    It depends on the condition of the base, not the material. If the concrete is level, well-drained, and free of structural cracks, an overlay is usually possible. Damaged or uneven bases need repair or replacement first. The base is inspected before any recommendation is made.

  • How long does a resin bound patio last?

    A typical lifespan is 15-25 years. That range is determined almost entirely by the quality of the base preparation. A surface laid over a poorly drained or cracked base will fail well before that. The base assessment is what makes the longer end of that range achievable.

  • Is a resin patio cheaper than paving slabs?

    Not always. If the existing base is suitable for an overlay, total cost can be lower than a full slab installation. If groundworks are needed, costs are comparable. The base survey determines which scenario applies, and both options are quoted separately so you can compare.

  • What happens if I delay replacing a damaged patio base?

    A deteriorating base continues to move, especially on Essex clay soil. Cracks widen, drainage worsens, and any surface laid over it later will need more preparation, increasing the groundworks cost. Addressing the base early keeps the scope of work smaller.

  • How is the cost broken down?

    Excavation, MOT Type 1 sub-base, edge restraints, and the resin bound finish are quoted as separate line items. This means you can see exactly what each stage costs and understand where the total comes from.
